July 31, 2010: Romar today sold it truck repair business, Romar Mechanical Services. All three Locations were sold in the deal (Buffalo, Cheektowaga and Rochester). The business, under new ownership, will continue to operate all three locations under the new name of Romar Truck Repair and Mechanical Services. January 20, 2010: "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Please remember that besides light and heavy truck repair, Romar also owns an industrial plaza with Office, Warehouse and Self-Storage space for rent. March 16, 2009: Romar would like to say "THANK YOU" to all our customers for your support during this, our 20th anniversary year. Romar looks forward to serving you today, tomorrow and over the next 20 years! October 20, 2008: Romar has completed a major update to our truck shop software package. Now, going from Quote to Repair Order to Invoice is one continuous process in our computer system. This helps us to better track the progress of your repair as well as increasing the amount of information about the repair in our vehicle history database. We are able to supply our customers with the full repair history of all their vehicles. July 1, 2008: Romar has completely switched over to cell phones from pagers. Our on duty personnel as well as all our service trucks are now equipped with cell phones for faster two way communication between our techs, trucks and customers. April 15, 2008: Romar has added a second mobile service truck to our Rochester/Henrietta shop. That brings our service fleet to ten vehicles to service our customers throughout Western New York. October 1, 2007: Romar is proud to announce the opening of our third shop location, in Rochester NY. Located at 305 Commerce Drive in the town of Henrietta, this shop will serve the Central New York region. Our shop manager for this location is Fletcher Royce. As with our other locations in Buffalo, our Rochester shop offers 24/7 road service. March 15, 2007: Romar now has a permanent mobile service unit located in the Rochester/Henrietta, New York area. Fletcher Royce is our company representative for that territory. December 4, 2006: As we keep growing, so does our office staff. Please welcome Doreen Jendrasik to our corporate offices. Once again this reinforces Romar's commitment to a continued high level of service that our customers expect when coming to Romar for their repair needs. August 10, 2006: Maria Pitman, our owner and president, was selected by Business First as one of 25 prominent women in Western New York to receive the third annual Women who Mean Business award. Maria will receive her award at a reception on October 5, 2006 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. May 19, 2006: Romar Industrial Plaza was listed in Business First as one of the Top Ten Self-Storage facilities in the Buffalo, NY area. November 14, 2005: The service department at 1989 Harlem Road is now open 24 hours, Sunday thru Thursday. The Harlem shop plans on becoming a full 24/7 shop as soon as more qualified technicians can be hired. February 21, 2005: Please welcome Margaret M. Bondonzi to our corporate office staff. As we have grown, so does the paperwork, accounting and customer services. Margaret is a great addition to our staff and will be instrumental in providing the continued high level of services that customers have come to expect from Romar. December 1, 2004: Romar has entered into a marketing agreement with CITGO and now has the area's only "QUICK LUBE" for heavy trucks up and running. November 23, 2004: All of Romar's technicians have now been certified to perform OBD-II emissions safety inspections using the New York State computerized inspection system. September 28, 2004: Romar's automated truck wash is now open for business! Along with trucks and trailers, we can also wash vans, buses and motor homes. June 1, 2004: All of Romar Mechanical Services technicians have completed, and are now certified, for Air Conditioning Repair. Our 1989 Harlem Road location is now registered with New York State for the proper handling and repair of vehicle A/C units. May 15, 2004: Romar will now except the credit cards shown below for payment of any service offered by Romar Mechanical Services and Romar Industrial Plaza:
October 1, 2003: Romar Mechanical Services has just closed on the purchase of a new home for our Cheektowaga truck shop. Our truck shop has moved from its location at 1560 Harlem Road, to our new location at 1989 Harlem Road (near Broadway). The new building gives us 10 work bays (old location had only 2), a full length oil change/inspection pit, an automated truck wash and 4 ½ acres of paved and fenced storage/parking area. Our corporate office will also move to this location May 1, 2004, giving the office staff double the space of our current office.
